    Default Jungle tropical themed room

This weekend I finally got a frog..."closet". I've got it cleared out and it will fit one 4ft by 6ft tall shelving unit. I will take off the sliding doors so its easy to see. Then I started thinking about the room itself. It would be cool to decorate it with a jungle theme. Maybe a rain forest wall mural. Fake palm trees...rope vines hanging. The room Is roughly 10x12. I do need to leave a single bed in there (for the guests I never have). I want some ideas to make it look as much of a rain forest as possible. I was maybe even thinking a life size GS background. Any ideas..but a water feature is out of the question.

No water feature? You could start off with and hot tub and work around that :-)

Not too hard to also bring in a large piece of a tree and anchor it to the floor and ceiling too.
Just need it cut to fit with little gap on top and bottom.

Ya know I was serious. I just don't know how feasible a hot tub and a full size tree would be in an upstairs bedroom. Green walls, fake" indoor" palm trees, things like that....what about those firefly lights put on the ceiling? I could make vines out of ropes. Those are the kind of ideas im hoping to squeeze out of your brain. . You're a crazy guy...get creative. Or have too many cold nights in the dog house frozen your imagination.

The firefly lights on the ceiling is a really neat idea. We have a rain forest theme to most of our house and I'm trying to find more unique ideas to incorporate as it mainly just consists of green and brown colors, tons of plants, and wood decor etc.

I've been thinking about doing something special with a wall or two but we haven't tried anything yet as we plan to move within the next few months. One of things I want to do is try adding some tree and vine vinyl decals to a few of the walls.

Another thing I thought would be neat to incorporate is the following tiles. They remind me of coco husk.

If I can find the vine I have hidden away somewhere... or might have tossed it.... It was a multi wrapped vine the twisted down from the ceiling to the floor looking like a spring. Was very cool but hard to keep the dust off in a living room.

If the room has some good daylight providing windows then some real plants in these areas would be good. Especially something tall.

Carpet can be rolled to different sizes to create a tree trunk and would be easy to create a group of trees.

Another thought is to use Great Stuff on Wax Paper to create rocks or even limbs, vines, parts of trees and such. Spraying on a wax paper will give you the option to make the designs you want with a nice flat backside for attaching to a wall.
They can also be painted with stone finish spray paints which come in a lot of cool finishes.
You can mix and match these finishes to create dark shadowed areas of the pieces also and the finished produce will have a stone or textured feel to it.

Lots of plants and grow lights pointed up in corner will diffuse streingth of light to human eye. Plants that have lower light needs probably won't need lights, but add shadows to room. Or if. Have enough windows make it look like my jungle at home. It'll be funny when the first/ last guest u have, has to bunk with your frogs and frog noises.

What about vinyl decals? They have so many out there now. I got a really great octopus one that I have on my toilet seat. I know it sounds weird, but I swear it looks cool.

It depends where you live but I picked up some zebra wall paper samples from b and q that might fit your theme
My house is part jungle/part cow print

I am going to order a rainforest wall mural to cover one wall... I'll see If I can copy and paste to show you guys. I also like the black tree vynals that was mentioned so I'll probably do something like that on an adjacent wall. Then I want to make some vines out of rope and silcone on coco fibre like I do in the vives. I don't have enough light in the room to do live plants so I will do some fake palm trees in the corners. I was thinking about bamboo for the mouldings around the door ways. I will paint the remaining walls green (one dark and one light). Get some jungly curtains for the window with a matching bedspread. Get a frog light switch. I was also thinking some palm frons(correct spelling?) to hang up on the painted walls. Maybe the firefly lights for the ceiling. Maybe a totum pole or something to hang on a wall or something. Add a litttle rainforest background sounds with tribal drums faintly pounding in the distance. Now all I've got to do is move the frogs out so I can paint the room.

Don have you tried making the fake rocks with the GS on the wax paper? That might be cool to make some fake boulders or somthing like that.
