The umbrella is suggested as a viv plant, for frogs and the like. But it's also contervercial, toxic if sap is eaten. But many people use it with no problems. Question, how many of u use and recomend umbrella?
Before anyone screams TOXIC, many popular plants are. Fig, Jew, some aloe, philodendron, and dracana, but as I was bansi this to fit, it had such an odor. I only found 1 post on other forum said had no problems. But it is a recomended plant for terrariums, but if it's the only plant, and frog can't get away, hhhmmmmmm ...,., please help, I'm to pick up my quarter size whites tomorow. I said fig, meant ficus

I'm calling viv a TREE House. New Picts of Opal and her new home, she's the size of a quarter. Very small. I decided to leave umbrella cuz I cut a twig and it didn't ooze sap. Still smelt though. Im going to air lei a hibiscus and switch plants out. Air lei will take 6 months. When she's a little bigger I plan on filling bottom with 1/2 inch of water. The space being empty now will probably be a cricket trap, and let me know how much she ate!!! Handy
update :::: this plant poisoned my frog!!The second day home her throat was swollen. So I put her in water and couple hours later, it went down. Emergency tank change and went to store, got honey for bath, she stayed in there a long time. Haven't found poop yet, is there anything else I can do for her?!?!!
Is she eating? After her emergent change in surrounding could be a little stressed so I would let her be, watch the weight, and let her settle in.
She'll come around.
I decided to just keep snake plants and brobeliads with the whites anymore.
I might try a pothos again but the thing grows way too fast.
Ok, thanks don. She is moving around a little at night, thermoregulating, I fed her allot the first 2 days, 4 tiny crux each night, so that may be the big belly I'm seeing. Hoping it wasn't the edema bloat. Didn't know if I should soak her in distilled. I will just make sure her baths are warm and a honey soak.
