Hi all, so about three weeks ago I adopted a green and gold bell frog, now named freddo. I am very new to the frog caring world, and am still learning the ropes
. He or maybe she (I'm not quite sure how to tell the difference) was a beautiful bright green and gold and has now turned a fairly dark brown, which I'm pretty sure is due to his environment, but a little worried all the same. We have him in a glass tank which, has a partially perspex but mostly mesh lid. We have rocks, logs etc and water in the bottom and I have now got some water plants, Lilly, rush? and a few others. We originally had him outside, but now have him inside. I keep the blinds shut during the day as it gets really hot inside, is this the best thing to do or will he be okay with the blinds open?? I worry that it may get to hot inside the tank. I also read somewhere that they may change colour during breeding season - could this be the cause of his dark coloring? Or is he sick?? We feed him a diet of approx five flies per day, sometimes crickets. Is this correct???
