Anyone ever had an issue purchasing crickets by the 1000 i've found them online for 15$ so could save money purchasing this amount.
Not really looking to breed because i don't have the space in my apartment but any suggestion or experiences with this?
Just bought a box from a reptile show near me, first time.
It's a heck of alot of crickets... and I have 6 american toads, two eqyptian toads, three southern toads and two cane toads. Toads are about as bottomless as pits come and they can't keep up with the sheer volume of them...![]()
It's a good deal but expect about half of them to die, if not more if you have fewer frogs/toads.
So your looking paying 10-11 cents a cricket at most pet stores ($100 for 1000).. in the bulk box you get them for about 1 cent each. Well worth loosing over half still.
yea ive got 2 african bull frogs that easly eat 20 plus crickets each every couple days i was also wondering if anyone had issues with the crickets coming diseased or them being less nutritional but it def. seems like a good deal i agree even with half them dieing
and the website allows you to choose if you want pinheads, 1 week old etc... so i figured i could get them young and just feed extras of the small ones and less as they grow
Crickets Direct: Crickets
Buying in bulk is the way to go for larger collections, we go through 10-20K per week.
any suggestions where to buy from in bulk?
Ghann's was the place to go until they got hit by the cricket virus, now they are outsourcing their crickets and have trouble filling orders. I've heard good things about reptilefood.com, they may be worth going through for small orders.
lol yea 20k crickets is redic ive only got 2 cricket eaters so 1k should be more then enough and ill give reptile food a try and let ya know how it goes thanks for the input guys
