Hello,
the kids brought home two FBT's which have been living in a portable plastic tank for maybe a month. In an effort to give the FBT's a better home and maybe teach the kids something in the process i figured we would set up a Vivarium (well, whichever is the 50/50 land/ water setup).
I was eyeing the TetraFauna Viquarium kit to start us off (have not purchased this yet however). I just picked up a used 20g glass tank and stand.
I have many questions or maybe none, guess it depends upon the day. regardless, i want to set up a a 50/50 tank and plan on using live plants and mosses as well.
I am not sure on substrates and am open to feedback, i was leaning towards the clay pellets at the first layer in the land section.
Has anyone used the viquarium setup from TetraFauna?
Please check out the setup threads in the Forum index; I am sure you will find lots of useful ideas in regards to your FBTs. I have not persnally used TetraFauna, but I have seen the setup and it looks rather interesting. I have tried various habitats for my 8 FBTs and they are such a hardy, well adapted toad, that they can handle pretty much anything you want to put them in. Just remember that they are excellent escape artist, so whatever setup you have them in, make sure it has a very secure top.Have fun with them and if you have questions, ask away-that is what we are all here for!!
