Default Leptopelis vermiculatus: I'd like to meet those who keep them!!!!

    Hi all,

I'm xdartfrogx and I am an avid African tree frog lover, and I have been keeping Leptopelis vermiculatus for over 6 years now. I currently have 14 of these beauties in both color phases. I have a 100 gallon acrylic live planted paludarium in which mine reside in with a rain and fogging system that I built. So that's enough about me and my froggies!

Anywho, if there's anyone else out there keeping these guys I'd love to chat! Knowledge is power and frogs are love! It would be great to see how others have their tanks set up for their frogs, how many they keep, and if they are for a hopeful breeding project or for pets n eye candy. I dunno anyone who keeps them yet, so feel free to show yourselves!

I do! I have two adults in a basic Exoterra habitat terrarium, nothing too special. Years and years ago I had all types of frogs (tomato, firebelly, tigerleg, gray, cuban, golden, green) but the LV's were always my favorite! So last summer I decided to get some more! But I don't know one person who even owns any type of frog so I am glad I found these forums.

    Post some pictures please!

    That is awesome Kairi!
I have some pics in my photo album. It shows the big tank, and the tiny tank where I let them hang out while I made final prep on the individual quarantine tanks. I need to get some better pics of the newest ones. They are in all color phases right now. Juvies are in their spectacular phase A and then we have the ones between phase A and B. And then a couple of the newer ones are so close of the phase B color. I love how they're so golden with their black markings as adults! And the babies; it's just amazing how these guys transform as they grow older. And we can't forget the astonishing eye color! None are as big as my big 6 year old momma though. Oooo! My avatar is of my oldest male back when I first got him, he's at least 6 years old now.

AWESOME!!!! I live in South Africa and a huge Lepto fan!!! We have 3 species of Leptopelis in South Africa all on the Eastern Coastline, but my absolute favourite is the Forest Tree Frog (Leptopelis natelensis). I was going to get my first trio this season but due to moving house I have held back on that for now.

Have any of you had any success with captive breeding of them?

I have a question for you: As you know, I just got one last Saturday, and couldn't find a care sheet for her habitat. What sort of humidity are you keeping in their environment? Thanks.
