    Default Re: Changing feeding schedule

My ornate is roughly 5 - 6 months in age - I've had him 3 months and got him as a froglet (about 1 - 1.5 inches). He is now over 4 inches in length (close to full grown), so I reduced him to every second day about a month ago and now he is fed twice a week. He gets as much food (nightcrawlers and Dubia) as he can eat in a feeding (10 - 15 min). One feeding per month is a pinkie or hopper mouse. I'm sure I could get a lot more food down him by feeding more frequently (he is hungry) but this was a conscious decision on my part to avoid health issues associated with excess weight. I would reduce feedings based more on size than age - when he/she reaches roughly full size, cut back. The age at which maturity is reached will depend on the frog and the conditions...
