ya, females are bigger, but I don't see many that big, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. There was a thread like a month ago titled frogs for 5 gallon, and there were a bunch of answers for what can go in there. Maybe use forums search and see if u can find it. I'd do it for u but on **** iPhone that has no cut and paste. So I wouldn't be able to forward anyways. 12x12x12= and divide by231=7.5 gal.

    Come on.
    You got to be kidding.
Who advised such a small tank for a frog ?

If you don't like to spend more room, look into another hobby....
    Maybe stamp collecting ?

I am,not used to gallon and inches,
But what I looked up on the size is it is a tank of 40x20x25cm.
That is really to small to provide enough space.
But well, maybe it is common use over there, although doubtful.
Around here a minimum for the smallest species would be no less then 40x40x40cm, although in my opinion it can be even a small size for a couple of thumbnails.
This kind of sizes are only for my offspring to grow the first month or 4.

A 5 gallon tank is not large enough for an adult frog to live full time in. Can it fit...yes...should it fit...No. Words like "squeeze", "frogs", and "tank" should never be used all in the same sentence.

In centimeters the tank they are speaking of ( 12 x 12 x 12 inches ) is approximately 30.5 x 30.5 x 30.5 cm. The size you mentioned of 40x40x40 cm isn't a huge difference in size is it?

Sorry, maybe got to you in the wrong way,
    No offence ment

I did look the thread up, it was about 5,5 gallon tank,
There was also mentioned it was to small.
I looked up the size since We never use gallons .
The size I found was that of an aquarium, a 30x30x30 tank is a regular size as well.
As I said, it only has a purpose for raising offspring .

By most people, the 40x40 tank is considered enough, although it might pose problems when you have a dominant individual .
I always use a minimum of 60x40x40 cm, not sure about the gallons ,as well for the small species.

I found that the frogs will show more natural behavior when properly sized tanks are used.I think its nicer to be able to witness that then placing them in a to small tank just to be able to have more species.
When the tank is to small, sometimes it seems everything is working fine, just because they aren't able to maintain a territory , when you housevest them properly sized, they will start fighting.
This may seem ok, but it may stress them out, not creating and maintaining a territory .
They simply don't fight because the lack of room.

A 12x12x12 is just over 7 gallons. A 40cmx40cmx40cm is 16.91 gallons. I know size is relative but it does seem like a huge difference to me. Wesley even suggested that was a minimum size that he would recommend.
