Got these yesterday, the shop said they were male and female, one calls the other doesnt, one is darker with worty skin, the other is dark brown and smoother, how do you tell which is which,I expected to hear calling in the night but not a sound![]()
Hi there
The males got more rough warts on the back,it feels like sandpaper almost to the touch. It is like tiny spines (i am not sure if this is what i mean, im from sweden...) or very small supershort hairs that are stiff. Don´t know how to explain it.. They got these so they can distinguish male from female in the breeding time.
By stroking the back with your hand, you could very easy tell the diffrerence between a female and a male,if you got both sexes in front of you.
But i am not sure if they develop these in the early age like yours are in.
You can also look at the forearms, the male have much thicker forearms in proportion to the rest of the body than the female, At breeding time, the male also develop darker throats, and the thumb on the front feet get a bit thicker and often black¨.The thumb is also not as smooth as the other toes at this point. To get a good grip roúnd the female this is.
I hope this helped you.
