For awhile now, I've been doing research on leopard geckos, ball pythons, bearded dragons, etc (mostly reptile research. After watching a couple white's tree frog videos on youtube and reading the caresheet, I fell in love with them. I owned 2 green tree frogs a couple years back so I do have a little experience with frogs. I've mostly owned american toads and one bull frog but never a white's tree frog.
About how much do they usually go for? I do understand these frogs aren't like green tree frogs and that they can't really live in room temperature. Our house can go as low as 60 degrees in the fall and winter so I know I'm going to need a good heat lamp.
What wattage of a heat bulb would you recommend and do these frogs require UVA/UVB lighting?
I usually see White's going for about $25-$30. Frogs don't require UVA/UVB, but some keepers like to use them and you would need them for any live plants you put in the tank. The wattage of the heat bulb would depend on how big of an enclosure you are using.
Awesome! I do plan on having a naturalistic vivarium so yeah, I'm definitely going to need UVA/UVB lighting.
The enclosure I plan on getting is an 18 x 18 x 24 Exo Terra.
Those are nice tanks and would be perfect for whites.
