Light bulb shattering?

Light bulbs should not shatter unless rapidly cooled when hit with water. If light bulbs commonly shattered when they get hot, then everyone's house would be full of exploding bulbs. You shouldn't have any problems.

I would imagine that unless you have a defective bulb, or get some sort of crazy power surge, the light bulb shouldn't even crack. I have personally never had a bulb crack from simply being on, and I run multiple 100 watt bulbs for 12 hours per day.
