All the info I read about Fire Bellys said that moving water facilitates the natural breakdown of toxin but is not to be depended on, and is no substitute for frequent water changes so yeah, I also use aquatize for these changes.

having live plants would really help with this - they can take up ammonia and nitrates and therefore act as biological filtration.

Bacteria that colonize surfaces in the filter and tank also break down ammonia. Moving water helps a bit because it supplies them with more oxygen, so they can work faster.

There is two moss balls (I intend to get more) and a valis that has been snail battered

I've not read one comment about the actual layout and if it's as great as I think it is for my FBTs... I was being creative with what I had at hand. I have spare tanks and faunariums should I need to separate but I like this set up and will keep it like this if possible..
Today I took my brown anole away from the tree frogs, even though resources say they can live together, they haven't fought, I did it because the humidity the frogs are enjoying seemed bad for his skin, I'm not oblivious to the state of my animals, and am keeping a close eye on this new arrangement.
