Hi everyone
I just bought some locusts off of Ebony and I put three in with my frogs (one each) and in less than 20 seconds they were all gone so they must love them. But as I only have 22 left I would like to breed them and I've searched the forum and google for how to breed them and it says I need a part soil part sand mix and I was wondering what type of sand to use? I have sand straight from the beach and was wondering wether that would be ok or would the salt content kill them?
Thanks Luke
Have you asked Ebony? whatever She's using probably works really well judging by her success. In my attempts to breed locust I dug it up from my backyard, though I live in the Mojave desert.![]()
Hey Luke..Glad your frogs love them. Mine do too. They go straight after them. They put on a great show for the visitors too...lol. That sand is fine..try not to get clumps of other stuff in it. I use an organic soil. I have also used soil from my garden..both worked fine. Just mix the sand and soil and spray it every now and again. I have also used just sand when Ive run out of soil and that also works..but its important to be more vigilant with spraying as when the hatching's hatch the sand can cave in on them if you dont. I really need to do an article on this soon. Good luck.
