Hello,
My golden tree frog recently got these painful looking spots on her rear end and legs, and they look similar to one that my American Green had a few months ago that I posted about. I treated the AG with polysporin last time, and they cleared up after about a month and didn't come back, but she died a few weeks later. That was back in September, however, and they were nowhere near each other even then. I have no idea what to do, and being a poor college student, a vet trip is the last possible thing that I can do right now. If anyone can tell me what these are, and if I can cure them without seeing a vet, that would be wonderful.
Thanks, Carolyn.
Every1 would say vet, and since that's not an option, and no1 answered yet........ I say check froggie first aide to left<=. And I swear there was something bout something "errupting from skin" maybe that'll help. Have u checked that referance?
Hey, thanks for replying Leefrogs!
I read the frog first aid article, and found something that I could use, unfortunately because of all of the snow I was only able to go to one store, and they did not carry what I thought I needed. Thanks for the advice though!
I really could use someone that has seen this before to give me some insight. If I need to take her to the vet, I will figure something out, but if someone could just tell me what I am dealing with, it would make everything a lot easier.
Thanks!
Carolyn.

I have never seen exactly that before, but I know what I have dealt with is at least close.
My WTF was sick with a swollen leg recently and a little bit after I took him to the vet the first time he developed small lesions on his leg that are similar in color and size to those blisters. Unfortunately the vet thought that my frog's injuries were caused externally, but I don't think that's what you have there.
They could be related to an infection, and if so you would need to get your frog antibiotics right away. I know what it's like being poor and not being able to afford the vet (I am a college student myself and had to spend all my savings on healing my little buddy, plus some christmas money I was saving), but in situations like these it's really all you can do.
I hope you can find another way I really do, but I know that if I hadn't taken my Bruce to the vet when I did, he would probably be dead now.
Good luck though! I hope you find what you need and your frog gets better.Keep us posted on your frogs recovery! I'll have my fingers crossed for him/her.
Hello!
Well I have some good news, some alright news, and some bad news.
The good news is that I was able to take my frog to the vet because I convinced my dad to help me out. The alright news is that my vet thinks that she has worms or some sort of parasite. The bad news is that he said that she has probably always had whatever is wrong with her, and since I got her at an expo, I feel like I bought her from a terrible person. I also have to give dewormer to my other frogs as well, even the ones in different cages. Anyway, if the dewormer works, problem solved, but, if not, then I have to take her back again and get some sort of cream to bath her in.
Well I'm glad u know what's going on. I'm new and never seen anything like it. Glad u took him in. Basicly you couldve lost all of them eventually. Some money now is nothing compared to replacing everythig.
I would add to all the advice you have been given, by saying you should maintain perfect sanitary conditions for this frog. I have never seen this ailment before, but I suspect it is a baterial infection. I would maintain the frog on white paper towels untill this clears up. You can try using Neosporin (without painreleiver). Use it sparingly.
