I currently have two african clawed frogs which keep me supplied with a steady stream of eggs.
I would like an extra couple of frogs in my tank so i would like to know if it is possible to remove one or two of these eggs and successfully raise them.
I feel i have all the knowledge now to raise them to healthy, happy frogs but i was wondering about the success rates of these eggs as i only want one or two new frogs and i dont want to take out ,like 20 eggs and then be left with having to get rid of the extra ones that mature. Thanks. Gav
what I would recommend is to put a SMALL ornament or decoration in their main tank and have a tadpole tank standing by and ready, when they do lay again, if any eggs land on the decoration move it into the tadpole tank.
carefully monitor the few eggs you have, and once you have a couple tadpoles clinging to the walls remove the rest of the eggs and quickly rinse that decoration under scalding water to quickly kill the remaining eggs.
