Here are some pictures of 'Claude' and 'Giblet'. Claude was named before I knew she was female aand i went for a play on words. clawed/claude ye seeee?

Very nice frogs! The male is the one with the "black fingers". These are called nuptial pads, rough patches that help the male grab the female during amplexus (mating embrace).

Claude is the fat female, and Giblet is the smaller male.

I hear them singing every few nights and have done for a few months now. Is it normal for these guys to eat the eggs which have been left around??, it doesnt seem right

These frogs are known to eat just about anything they can get into their mouth. Both males and females will call. Xenopus laevis males are known to have 4 different calls and females have at least 2 calls. Often you will hear duets at night which can get quite loud.

I would love to have a few African Clawed Frogs, but you aren't allowed to own them here. I won't lie... I'm jealous of your beautiful frogs :P
