    Default New tank set up

Hi guys, my gf and I came up with this after we gave up the drop front shoe box idea (due to possible chemical hazard). Let me know what you guys think, comments and suggestions are welcome^^^

I busted up when I saw your tank. I just set up something similar for my two Pacmans this last weekend. I divided a 20 gallon long into two.

hey Cheri, how does it work our for ya? I had been thinking to upgrade, but I am itching to add more horn frogs to my collection, to a point where I was eyeing the acrylic display case... but we'll see how things goes...

Sorry I didn't see your response earlier. The splint tank has worked perfectly fine for me
It allows me to share the heating, the light fixture and a fogger. But you also have to understand my stolzmannis top out at 2 inches. They're mini pacmans.

I would black out the divider so the frogs dont try to eat each other and bang themselves on the divider.

    @ Adrian: thanks bro^^
@ Cheri: Yes, right now they seem ok since its winter... we hafta wait until summer time to see whts up
@ Riko: black out the divider? what would be a safe material to use? So far they are ok in terms of thinking the tank mate is their meal...

You can use non-toxic acrylic paint... or you can just use a piece of black or white plastic... something solid so there's a visual barrier. I'm not sure how long you're planning on keeping those frogs in that enclosure, but in time they will want to eat each other.

Here are a few 10 gallon tanks that I just divided today. I am getting ready for a shipment TOMORROW!! 8 new babies.... I can't wait.

The dividers are just white pvc. I marked the tanks in 3rds and then attached with just 3 spots of clear silicone.

My pvc sheet is scraps from a friend. I have seen it on Amazon and you should be able to get pcs from local plastic companies. Like USPlastics, etc.

Here are a few of my first divider tank in use with my pixies.

gtr319: We just finished removing our custom 10 gallon tank dividers a couple of weeks ago. They are black plexiglass that was cut to specs by a local glass shop and require only a little aquarium sealant to hold them in place. This is an example of how we did it. PM me if interested in purchasing the used plexiglass.

@ Jeff K: Thanks for the offer, but to save the trouble for you (and $ for me^^) I can probably make a quick trip to the local OSH to get a piece if in fact I do need one. But I do like the black film that you have on your tank, I need it for my leo gecko. And I to plan carefully because right now I have an empty tank... I am eyeing on the pyxie or the crested gecko... I heard that the pyxie frog are really entertaining to watch when it comes to feeding, is that true??? How are they different VS the pacmans??

Yep, temp set up. Should be good for several months. Then they will have to be moved to larger tanks. That is why I just kinda tack the divider. I don't want too much work to scrap off the silicone.

Black film: I use the black contact paper from Home Depot. It has slight leather texture on the front side, but that does not matter. Just make sure to 'burnish' it down well so that it looks nice. I have used it on the backs of other tanks. You can see it in my 'fun food' album on the 5 gal hissing roaches.

can I just use the black poster papers from Michael's or doesn't matter?? reason being is that I want to cover every tank that I have since my whites tree frog is focusing more on the gecko tank because she thinks the gecko is her meal and I don't want that....

Doesn't matter. If you are just using it as a visual screen, anything works. I use white poster board between tanks.
