I'm glad I live where I do, because I go to this Jack's Pets a lot and every manager their is in their 20's and they really know their stuff, Talk to this guy everytime I go in, he is trying to breed pixies soon, he just made his rain chamber and about to do it sometime this year.
This Jack's is sweet, They know a lot about Monitors as well, which I am a huge fan of myself.
I have a timor monitor on the tame side. I got him from a LPS by me. This guy was 10 inches when the got him. I been watching him for 2 years . they had him in a 5 gal tank with dry substrate and a little water bowl. In those conditions never was able to hide broke him down and is not scared at all. Now he is king. He is 18 inches and lives in a humid home. He has plenty of rooms under the cork bark and spaghnum moss. He loves me to feed him. He will take it from my fingers. And loves to sun bask.
What do you think about the wc peach throats. will they make good pets.
Yes, Peach throats do not tend to be too agressive by nature. Plus it is a smaller species. It's best to stay away from wild caught crocodile monitors, niles, and bigger species, usually they have bacteria in their mouth.
I was thinking about getting a dwarf caiman in the near future.
