Hi everyone,
So I have had this frog for about 5 months now. He eats well for the most part, although I wish he would eat more, but he has gained weight and seems to be doing well.
Well merry christmas to us, I woke up this morning and checked up on him and he has a really big "something" sticking out his side under his skin. At first i though it might have been something he ate (he only gets crickets), but i squeezed him a little and it definitely seems immoveable and firm, as if connected to his skeleton. I doesn't seem like it would be a broken bone because that would probably move to the squeeze. It seems like it's coming out so far it's about to tear skin from stretching.
My second guess would be an abnormal growth of bone perhaps, but I check up on him on a pretty regular basis. I glance at him several times a day and open the cage once a day and take a look at his water, substrate, and food (crickets being fed oatmeal/calcium Vits). So I don't think something of this size could have grown without my noticing over a period of time. Can something this large grow in 48 hours?
I put him in the water and he could move his arms and legs fine. He then got out and found a hiding spot as usual. Walking normal it seems, from the outside at least. Hard to tell if he's in pain and all.
Please let me know what you think
