    Default Calcium in mice

Will feeding a mice every 1-2 months to an adult pacman be enough to supply their calcium? Can they still get MBD after they are adults or?

Mine is a year and 3 months old and I have been supplementing with calcium since the start. So far he hasn't had any MBD. He stopped growing at 6 months at 4 inches. He still sheds like once a week or once every 2 weeks though, does that mean he's still growing? I haven't seen any changes in length so far from it.

We have an albino that was fed nothing but pinkys by its previous owner and it has mbd. Whats funny is, on the frog forums pinkys dont have enough calcium, on tarantula forums they say pinkys have lots of calcium.

It's all relative John. Too much for a T, too little for certain vertebrates.

Even feeding mice every 1-2 months they can get MBD. As adults and froglet's, more so with growing frogs. Shedding doesn't always mean growth, well at least not growing bigger. They replace old skin. They don't have the same convenience we do where it just flakes off. If you supplement him with calcium and proper vitamins, you shouldn't have to worry about MBD.

For those that don't know MBd is caused when the body doesn't have enough calcium in the blood stream. So what happens is their body leaches calcium from their bones, which then become soft and malleable...not pretty.

Would feeding mice every 1-2 months be bad for a pacman even if it's dusted with calcium, D3 and vitamins? Is it just the calcium that's low or are there other reasons as to why mice are bad?
