HI, I bought my White's almost a week ago and haven't seen any color changes since then so I was wondering if his color is strange. He's a much lighter brown than I have seen before when searching for pictures of white's tree frogs and he is definitely not blue. I don't think there's anything wrong with him, I'm just unsure if this coloration is normal in white's tree frogs. If anyone has any insight please let me know!

I'm in the same boat u r. New frogs. Mine get kinda grey when I'm cleaning the glass. I noticed there's no covers on cage. If I leave mine uncovered they get grey too. It's been three weeks for me and I still have all sides covered until they get used to the new home. Now my problem is when and how to get covers off without freiking them out. I decided to uncover a side that just faces a plant. I dono, maybe cover for a few days, peek in and see if he's changed. I have 1 that's green all day brown at night. And 1 brown all the time. He was only greenish olive the 1st day home. Both were brown at the store.
forgot to say temps and humidity. They say. Drier and hotter for green humid and cooler for brown. Then I've also heard none of that matters, some are just more brown. But he looked greyish to me

Yeah I heard that temperature and humidity affect their colors as well, I was just wondering because he hasn't changed in the least since I got him and I heard that some people's White's within minutes. He's also been very lazy ever since I got him, sleeping all through the day and most of the night, but that could be just him getting used to his new home and the new cycle I have him on. I'm not sure what times they had light and darkness at the pet store where he used to live but I'm trying to change it to one that fits my schedule, as my lights aren't hooked up to a timer.
Is grey bad? I heard on a different forum that a grayish color can indicate stress, but he's been that color since the day I first saw him in the store.
Also, how often do you feed your frogs? I heard 5-8 crickets every two or three days for adults, and I'm pretty sure Bruce Campbell (my frog) has stopped growing. But I've also heard to feed them daily, just in smaller amounts. I don't want to over feed him, I've seen some obese White's and they just break my heart.![]()
I'm going to cut mine down gradually. Food is a comfort for them right now. The store fed them everyday, so I'm just giving 4 small canned, or 2 big crix everyday. 3 weeks now and finally my brown unfriendly one comes out to his perch to eat. Otherwise, he'd wait for the sound of the other eating. I find them waiting for me in morning. Good sighn. I left cover off that one side lastnight, and lump(brown1)didn't go to water. So they know, and are scared of everything. Even a plant that don't move. I'm inclined to say lump might be wild caught.

Yeah the store I got Bruce at fed him everyday too so I think I'll just cut down the amount I give him and feed him every night. The girl who was taking care of him at the store said he'd eat 5 a day but that sounds like too much to me.
I feel like he's comfortable in his cage because he'll leave his log to hunt when I feed him at night but I've been putting my hand in the cage and stoking his back every few days to start him getting used to me so eventually he can be handled, but I don't think he likes being touched much right now. (I do wet my hands and make sure their clean so I'm not hurting him.)
That's strange about your Lump, did you get him at a pet store like the rest of your frogs or was/were he/they bought from a breeder? I hope he eventually gets used to it, but I hate to see wild animals forced into captivity.![]()
