Bought Charlie the Grey TF a friend and he's calling already.

Hi All,
So I thought that Charlie may do better with some company seen as she was in a tank with two others at the pet shop. So I went back and bought one of her tank mates today. I was kinda hoping for another girl, as hubby wasn't to keen on the idea of having a frog calling. Well it turns out we have a boy! He's been in his new home for around 4 hours and we have just heard him calling already. I am pleased with this as I'm guessing it means he's happy. Charlie is looking well, I fed her crickets the other day and they didn't last long. I have also added to my tank as I felt that more hiding places would be better now there are two. What would people recommend in way of feeding? should I put a few crickets in with them and hope that they each get some or should i take them out to feed? Charlie really doesn't seemed to like being handled at all and I really don't want to stress her out. My little man escaped when trying to transfer him to his new home so am not keen on getting him out to often lol! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I don't know what your viv setup looks like but if it has a ton of places where crickets are likely to lose your frogs then you may want to manually feed them with tongs, or, if your substrate is deep enough, you can bury a glass candy dish or bowl somewhere, and the crickets will get trapped in for easy pickings.

Of course you can always use a separate feeding container, but you mentioned that one of your frogs really hates being picked up, so best not to stress him out.

Another thing you can do is to find a time when your frogs are active and awake; then drop the crickets in one at a time right in front of them. In my experience, a hungry frog wastes zero time in getting down to business. The crickets would have no time to get away.

Finally, if your setup has very little foliage or features on the ground and there's nothing for crickets to burrow in, then just drop them right in. Most of the time the frogs will find them and in case they don't, do regular checkups for removal of dead crickets. The important thing to keep in mind is that you don't want to put more crickets into the cage than your frogs can eat in a sitting.
