So I'm building a new vivarium and I don't want the egg crate to be visible so I was thinking about spray painting the egg crates black and that way they wouldn't be as unsightly, would the paint kill my red eyed tree frogs?
You can use Krylon Fusion paints. They are harmless once dry. People even use those paints in their aquariums with no problems.![]()
Hey thanks! Do you think painting the egg crates black would make them not as noticeable?
It depends on what you are doing. Are you putting in a water feature? If not, The egg crate would be covered with substrate anyway
If built properly, you should never see the eggcrate at all. Unless you mean the sides and back, in which case black contact paper (shelf liner paper) is a very cheap remedy. It goes for about $7/roll and it will have enough to do a bunch of vivariums. Best thing about it is that it is removable.![]()

No I don't plan on putting a water feature, only using a 20 gallon high, too small I think. But your right I'm sure it won't even be noticeable, thanks guys!
