So, our furnace went out the other night, and luckily we still have space heaters on our collection. It got me thinking, what would we do if the power went out all together? Well, it did last night, but only for about an hour. So for those of you that have some brutally cold winters....what is your back up plan to keep everyone toasty? I posted it in here since I personally feel our tree frogs would be affected the most.

The winters never get that bad here in OR, but I know quite a few froggers in the northeast invested in generators after the ice storms and power outages a few years ago.

A friend of mine in Minnesota bought a bunch of those hand warming heat packs when she lost power for a few hours last winter. She put them inside the tank and covered them with moss. It kept it warm enough.
