Hi guys, i recently brought a "American Green Tree Frog" well so it was labelled, i have been looking all over the net for a photo of a frog that looks similar to mine, but "American Green Tree Frog" doesnt return even a species that looks similar, i am very confused and would be greatful if someone could tell me exactly what species i have and if the little guy was miss labelled, SORRY FOR THE POOR PICTURE QUALITY!
many thanks![]()
It looks like a Pacific treefrog (Pseudacris regilla) to me. They are close relatives of the American Green treefrog (Hyla cinerea) found along the Pacific coast of North America.
Welcome to the Forum
It looks like a Pacific Chorus Frog. You can check out Paul Rust's care article to the left. He has alot of great information on these frogs and photos. These little guys change color, so you may notice your frog change from tan, to brown, to green.

better picture!
so is this definitely a pacific chorus frog? im guessing its a she cause it lacks a vocal sack and has a light throat ?
It is definitely a Pacific Chorus frog. I called it a Pacific Treefrog, which is old common name, but I guess Pacific Chorus frog is a more appropriate since it is no longer in the genus Hyla.
