Three days ago I accidently broke a green frogs leg by dragging a garden chair over it. My husband picked it up and it had its broken leg in its mouth. He put it in a tree hollow and we both expected it to either die or get eaten by one of the many snakes we have around out property. Today I filled a watering can with rainwater and as I emptied the water into the bird bath, out popped the frog with the broken leg still in its mouth. I picked it up, the leg popped out of its mouth and looked a lot straighter. Has this frog been treating itself by splinting its leg in its mouth? Will It survive? I have put it back in the watering can in the garden and will observe its progress, but I was wondering if anyone has witnessed a frog do this before.
