Default Fish with an FBT? Good, bad??

    Hi all

I am re-doing my FBT's set-up while I have some time off over Christmas after being inspired by all the awesome new set-ups that have been on display lately.

I am wanting to have a 40/60 land/water split divided by a piece of glass in an aquarium. The water depth will be about 12cm (4.7 inches) with some smaller water plants, pebbles, etc etc. We have a local species of fish which are common 'Guppies' which I use in my outside pond (home to a few 1000 Guttural Toad tadpoles and African Clawed Frogs) and these little guys take care of the algae and general cleaning up of the pond. I wanted to check if you think this is a bad idea keeping them together with my FBT?

I will keep the fish in the tank a few weeks to get the cycle going nicely before introducing the FBT.

I am just worried about introducing parasites or something similar if I do this, will they irritate the FBT? Would maybe a tetra or 2 be a better option do you think?

    Any advice would be appreciated

the ratio your looking at would be ideal for them.

now, the problem here is twofold. your concern here is a viable one, then you have the reverse effect of the toads toxins affecting the fish. so unless you have large amount and turnover of water to filter out all the accumulated products of the fish and toads one or the other will suffer. now i know people keep fish and toads together but i do question the long term issues here as i even do at least a 90% water change weekly in my set-up. may have stated this here before but if you rub your finger anywhere in the water you will get like a greasy feeling as you go along any surface. that is what your fish is taking in!!!
that is my take on the issue
good luck with the build and toads
