I was using a big rubber maid from wal-mart housing 100 crickets at a time. They only escape when I was transferring them to a bag to add the Rep-Cal on them. Plus I hate the chirping sounds they make. It drives me nuts. I'm going use more of Night Crawlers and blood worms and maybe once or twice a week with crickets, for the FBT's. For the pac man he will get Night Crawlers, Super Worms and crickets, roaches as well and once a great while a pinky or a feeder fish.

When I kept several dozen crickets at a time, I had to close them in a wardrobe in our spare room b/c the chirping drove my husband nuts. We didn't use the room, and therefore didn't heat it, it stayed anywhere from 57-60 degrees in there and they did fine.

I think they should be just fine in that cold of weather. I've seen them live in the 40s and when in even colder weather some did stop moving but a few minutes in a warmer environment and they perked right up! I've also put them in the freezer and even after being in there for 10-15 minutes and throwing them in a cage, sure enough a few minutes later I would see it jumping around. They are pretty hardy.

Thanks for the response, everyone. I just don't want to buy 25 dollars worth to wake one morning to a bunch of dead crickets.
