I've managed to breed crickets with their temps ranging from 62F to 78F, so I'm sure they'd survive the high 50's. I've also put them in the freezer for a minute or so with no ill effects (apart from being slow, easy pickings for a frog).
You could always get them a heating pad or even an incandescent bulb for a heat source at night if you are worried. You might want to work on cricket-proofing your container if you've had enough escapees to get them banished to the garage, what do you keep them in?
