Sounds way to expensive for a medium male pixie. But the retailer may have had to pay more, thinking it was a good deal. Now, the retailer has to make up his 'loss'.

    I would wait.

You can still buy babies for around $20 each. Buy several and raise them up to see what you get!

For that much he better throw in a tank and some plants. Also some free crickets for at least 6 months. Then that would be a great deal. I seen a lot of shops do that with pac man frogs. They buy them at a high price and then re-sell them for a higher price. I would just get a baby or some thing else for that much.

Some thing is worth what people are willing to pay for it. If the shop is getting a lot of interest in the frog at $200 bucks then they're not going to lower the price and will eventually sell it. If you like the frog and $200 bucks isn't a big deal to you get him. If it is a lot of money to you then wait and you'll eventually come across another one for less. I just spent $280 bucks on two Stolzmannis and when I opened the box my friend saw the two inch and a half frogs and said, "you paid 300 hundred bucks on two frogs?" And then he laughed. But he just spent $2500 hundred on a set of rims for his car that I wouldn't have spent $300 bucks for. We all have our priorities. I would spend $500 bucks on a black red eye leaf frog right now if anyone could ever fork one over. Is it worth $500 Bucks...probably not...but it is to me. Pay what feels right for you ...don't listen to anyone else.

    Cheri,

Yep. It is all relative. In collecting adult pixie breeders, I have paid up to $200 for an adult 8 inch svl male. I have also paid $250 for an adult female 6 inch svl. These prices are locally here in Florida.

If you're interested we have a 5" svl female that we will let go for less than that. She's a nice lil tank. We just need room for the 2 babies we have that are growing.
