Hi,
I heard on radio that you can keep a green tree frog loose in the bathroom. Of course with de-chlorinated water and the toilet seat down.
Has anyone ever heard of this before or able to shed some light on it?
Thanks
Hi Rosie,
I moved your post into the forum so more people would see it.
I think my first question would be why would you want to? Secondly I know people who have found tree frogs in bathrooms that have windows, but I can't imagine that it is an ideal situation for the frog. You'd have to keep humidity high, ensure that nothing harmful to them or irritating to their skin is around, and I'm sure your bathroom would end up covered in poo. Additionally, feeding would be a concern, I wouldn't want crickets just roaming my house (sure some end up doing that, but I try not to make a habit of it). Overall, I don't think it would make a great quality of life for the frog. Open space sure, but at the cost of a lot else. Check the care sheet for the white's tree frog on this forum for more info on how to care for this frog.
And don't forget about all the chemicals you actually have in a bathroom, plus that's where you keep your hairbrushes and toothbrushes (Ew). I can't imagine how it would be ideal for the frog or owner.
