Hi ! Okay so i got a white liped tree frog friday (3 days ago) and he wont eat. i've been told its because its too cold but my heater wont go up. The tempeture is at about 72-73 f and the hygrometer says the humidity level is at about 67 percent. Also when i got him he was a beautiful green but now heas brown. Can i make him go back to the green because it looks healthier please help me !

The care for the white lipped is the same as the Whites tree frog. Please read the care article for them on the left. You are definately going to need to get your temperature up. At night they Can be 72-73 degrees but in the day time you should keep them between 78-83 degees. That could be why he has lost his green. Your humidity is fine. Why don't you post a picture of him and his enclosure as there could also be other factors involved. You haven't had him very long so if you make sure you're meeting his needs he will be just fine. What size tank do you have him in, what type of lighting, what are you using for a heater, what type of substrate are you using, what are you feeding him, does he have a water bowl, places to hide and climb? These are all things that need to be looked at. But first go to the pet store and get something to warm up the tank.

Justin, I just noticed you're new here....Welcome to the forum. Post some pics of your frog and his enclosure and there are a lot of people here that would be glad to give you a few pointers. Frogs are a lot of fun. We all went through the same thing when we got our first frog. But as soon as he settles in and you get use to his care you will find that they make fascinating pets. They are more difficult than a dog but thats what makes them so cool to own.

And i also have a heating pad underneath his "house". Yes he does have water 9Only a little boal but he never goes in it). I have 1 fake plant and a litle rock to hide underneath. He also likes to Climb the styrofoam rocks in the back and stays on it almost all day . Please help me on this im starting to really love this guy :P And please tell me how i could bring the heat up on this thing

First, lets move the heat mat to the side of the tank and check the package to make sure it is large enough for your size tank. Second, you've got to get a lot more plants. If you don't have a lot of money to spend on bunch of different plants go to home depot and buy the largest Pothos that will fit in your tank. You can plant it in your substrate directly or keep it in the potfor now. Wash the plant thoroughly before puttting it into you enclosure. If you have the time and money to get more creative start going through the photo gallery of everyones tanks to get ideas. Your tank should be "thick" with folliage right now. The ability to hide and blend in undetected is what he needs right now. Only one plant on the side is leaving him expossed. Think 3 dimensionally when decorating his tank. Use up all that empty air space with plants and branches for him to climb on. He should be able to completely hide from you if he wants. Once he has settled in he will sit on the branches up front to look out. Right now he needs comfort and security.

Hows he doing? Any luck getting the temp up? By the way you can use branches or sticks from outside just make sure you clean them and bake them to kill any nasties before you put them into his tank. And the best part is...they're free.
