I haven't posted to the forum in a while, so I thought I'd give an update on my Waxy Monkey frogs (Phyllomedusa sauvagii). My waxies have been calling for a couple weeks now, probably because we've been getting some rain lately. Today I went to Walmart and purchased a handheld pressure mister/sprayer in the garden section for a little over $6. It produces a fine, rain-like mist. I used it on my waxies and almost immediately, one of my males jumped on my female and went into amplexus! I haven't bred this species before, but I am hoping to this spring (mine certainly seem willing to). So that's what's going on in my world, just thought I'd share with all my fellow FrogForum members.
Super!! I don't think u have till spring!! They're ready now daddy!! LOL

Awww! Love is in the air.
God bless,
Laura
I hope you're successful with breeding! And with giving some babies to your neighbor.![]()
Amplexus sounds so much better than frog porn.
Those are good news! Hope you have some froglets soon!
That's great news! Better get ready for some new editions. XD

LOL! Yes it does. So if amplexus is frog porn, do our frogs sit around all day watching documentaries on Animal Planet? Person: "Who's copy of Life: Reptiles and Amphibians is this?" Frog: "I have no idea, I have NEVER seen that before, especially not the part where they show frogs in amplexus!"
So far, not much has happened besides calling and amplexus, which may continue for a couple weeks.
Hmmm... two weeks... time for an update! As of yet, no eggs. However, the Phyllomedusa sauvagii are still a-callin'. I've attached a recording of one of my males croaking, enjoy!![]()
It does sound like squeaky shoes! Tell your frogs to hurry up and lay eggs!
