    Default Ceratophrys Stolzmannis are here!!

They arrived this morning from Understory and they are an inch and a half. As soon as I put them into their new homes they immediately buried themselves so I didn't get a chance to take pictures. I decided to put the heatmats on the sides of the tanks because I didn't want to risk any problems. I also did put the cork board on the back wall but didn't recess it in case the crickets run up the wall as suggested. It can easily be lifted out if its a problem... I'll know real soon. They are 3 months old and are very cute. My first Pacman frogs....and I always thought of myself as a tree frog person... go figure! Now I can see for myself what all the hubub is about. I have some full size crickets and will put a couple in each tank tonight to see if they'll go for them. I'm looking for names if anyone has any suggestions. They are both green.

Okay here are some pictures. One just came out took a stroll around and went back to his dirt. Oops... that last picture would of a car we're working on at our shop...don't ask me how that got there. Told you I wasn't computer savy. I can't figure out how to get rid of it now.

I'm so giddy...new frogs are like Christmas morning... you just want to show everyone your new toys. I put two crickets and one small wax worm into each tank. They both immediately sprang to action and chased down a cricket. Skippy (that's his name) gobbled up the worm. In the other tank, Lucky's second cricket dragged off his worm. Apparently crickets eat worms...who would have guessed? Lucky is on the hunt so I'm sure that cricket wont survive until morning. One thing I never really knew about Pacman frogs is how quick they hop around...almost like little rabbits. Compared to the red eyes who walk slowly from branch to branch...these guys spring 4-5 inches with each leap and are super fast. It was good to see them both up tonight checking out their new surroundings. I wish I can watch them more but I really want them to settle in on their own first. Did I say how thrilled I was to see that they eat? Yeah!!!
