Hi There. Wow a whole frog forum - very nice.
We live in Missouri on a "farmette". I am looking for help with Lucy - a big orange toad.
Lucy has taken up residence in my barn - been there all summer. I tried to take her away - but she came back. So I made her a little "frog city" in the barn.
Well - Poor Lucy was trying to dig a hole in the gravel on the barn bottom trying to hypernate, but she didn't make it down 1/8 of an inch. I read about toad abodes - and made her two of them, but she doesn't seem to care for them. There's nice loafy dirt - nice wet leaves, dug down for her.
Today when I went in the barn - she was sitting by the door - now she Does have an escape she knows where it is out of the barn - still it was odd. I am not real sure what to do with Lucy.
Should I take her some place else and make her a hibernation area - Leave her where she is?
Any advice would be very welcome. I really appreciate your time.
Sounds like Lucy knows a thing or two - she will do what suits her. I wouldn't worry about it.
