Slightly unexpected

So we have been hearing some calling here and there. I thought it was one of our new red eyes, but after Tony sent me a recording of his, I suspected maybe the albino I just found nuptial pads on was making the noise but never actually saw him in action, plus even though I've read they sound like thomas the train all videos of them on youtube are just people torturing them. Heard it this afternoon and walked over to the rack, and discovered it was actually our biggest ornata. Which actually isn't very big at about 2.75" svl. Picked him up and found nuptial pads. I swear they were not there a few weeks ago, but he has shed a bit. I might add I believe he is less than a year old.

Give it time to mature. Our smaller male, about 10 mo's old, will start calling when Thomas does. His is more raspy and isn't as developed as our older male Thomas. When Thomas calls, it sounds exactly like this at the 0:05 mark...

Thanks. I really didn't expect the horned frogs to be mature enough. I've been waiting to hear the red eyes. We had a blue night bulb on them, and they will not come out with it on.
