Suppose you never seen a bite from an African Rock Python
They are amazing boas and the assortment of colours make it more worthwhile. They are snappy little buggers and apparently can be fussy feeders, but if you buy from a reputable breeder then feeding shouldn't be a problem. They do calm down after time but be prepared for a lot of bites until then, but with patience and a lot of handling they calm down nicely and make great display animals.
A friend of mine has a pair of children's pythons and for the first year or so you couldn't put your hand near the cage (and they have big teeth for their size and feeding habits) and then over night they just calmed down and are now peaceful and easily handable.
