What is your average room temperature? I had a heat bulb on my GTF and I found that I was having more problems with it then if I just left him at room temperature. Now, the only time I turn one on is if it drops below 20 degrees Celcius (sorry, I'm Canadian, I have no idea what that is in Farenheit! ).

Your average room temperature is very similar to mine, and I don't use any sort of other heat source 99% of the time. Try it for a few days and see what happens. I really like the setup you have-loos nice and natural which I always strive for in my tanks.

hmmm, so you only turn it on when it gets cold? how often do you mist? would the humidity levels stay the same with no light?
