    Default I'm new!!!!!!

    Hey' everyone,
I'm new and I'm sayin HEY! I have a question about my Tiger Leg Monkey Tree Frog Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis. I've had him all summer, but he stubbornly remains brown. Am I doing something wrong? why is he always brown? I have him on a healthy diet, he's in a great tank with an automated fogger/mister and good lighting and heat. Expensive set up, i've worked on it for over a year. So why is he still always brown?

Welcome! In my P. hypochondrialis group I have noticed that some seem to favor brown and others favor green, and most will change back and forth. I have not been able to determine a specific cause but it does not seem to be a reason for concern, some of the brown individuals have been in my collection for close to two years and are thriving.

Passon13, you already got the answer to your question, fishing for the answer you want to hear will not help your frogs.

Thank. I guess I'll just keep an eye on him, and I'm not sure if they are compatible as tank Passion13. I do know they tend to thrive with their own kind, but if it is a must I believe it is best to keep them within the same family of their species. I hope he turns green, brown is cool but green is much more aesthetically pleasing.

thanks vividsnow, oh and TONY, how old are you? why is it a bad thing to get opinions from others seeing how only 3 or 4 people replied to my original post. I dont know anyones background on here, so how do i know you or anyone else here know anything about frogs or lieing about the fact that you know? so if it irrated you that bad, it would be beneficial if you just not read what i post or keep your comments to yourself.

Alright i'm out of here then. That post he replied to in this forum he did not have to call me out, and say that i was searching for the answer i wanted. As i stated to one of the other moderators whom have already contacted me " I never said that you guys were not knowlegable. I said that i do not know your backgrounds. Now that i know that those who responded are qualified, i would not have posted what i did earlier because i would have known your qualifications. I apologize about my posting but also Tony was out of line for "calling me out" on that post which was not directed to him.".

It's too bad you feel this way. I don't see anything here that warrants such strong feelings, except perhaps a little pride getting bruised. If you really need answers to the below question that you asked then I would recommend reconsidering and getting some knowledge before you get any more frogs.

It can sometimes take a while for the right person to see your post and be able to answer your specific question. People here have a lot of experience and knowledge but unlike some similar forums we will not answer a question just to stroke our egos, most people here are very good at not trying to help if they don't know for sure. Give it a little time and I think you will find this forum is a good place to find information.

I did not mean for this to be thread of trivial arguments. "Passion 13" I don't think he "called you out" I think he was simply stating that you posted on my thread with a subject that my thread was not designated for, meaning you aleady posted the your' question on your' own thread so maybe it should be kept there. I didn't mind answering your' question passion but I don't think he meant to insult you.
