i really do hope to have poison darts soon, but i dont only keep frogs. i have a variety of snakes as well, so its a lot of work. but i will probably have the money late fall/early winter. another place i found that was good in keeping poison darts is a site called Ohio dart frogs and fish i thinks its only one guy but he sells fish as well and man he has some really creative vivariums.

I've just had a look through the 'making vivariums' section, it's really interesting and easy to understand. Perhaps some ideas for future reference!

yeah hes really good at making vivariums. i had already thought of setting ten gals on the short side i never really tried, let alone figure out how. so hes definantly opened som doors, but the thing is ventilation..

It seems a lot of dart frog folks keep their frogs in vivaria with ~zero ventilation quite successfully. That doesn't surprise me very much since rainforest is often incredibly stuffy.

I have some ventalation on my dart enclosure. I have a piece of plate glass that rest very nicely on the top of it with a half of an inch of open space, which is stuffed with a folded paper towel. Humidity ranges from 80 - 90%.

I love my dart, it is very fun to watch. Its quite active and hunts down its prey, it will not sit and wait for the prey to come to it. Just wished I had more, but there is no room in the inn at the moment for more darts. Otherwise I would've bought some from Lisa already. Love her Oyapocks!

i thought you would most likely set a ten gallon on its side because tree frogs are arboreal, but i guess some species of darts like to climb. im not really sure if im right or not but brians tropicals seem to be keeping poison darts in vertical tanks. please correct me if im wrong.

Darts do climb, some species more than others.

i heard that D. Leucomelas are climbers but i didnt know if that were true.

He's a breeder. He has some really cool stuff. Those shrimp are awesome.
