Just tried to order some dubias for my baby pyxie, but sadly I found out that they are illegal to own in Florida.
Yea that sucks man. If I recall all roaches are banned from keeping in florida due to the risk of them escaping and becoming an invasive species.
I don't believe that is true, I believe I heard somewhere that there are a couple of feeder roach species that are considered native to florida and therefore can be purchased and kept in that state. I poked around online and found this:http://www.doacs.state.fl.us/pi/enpp...ic-and-Non.pdf Cranifer and discoids are both decent feeder roaches for larger frogs and it would seem it is perfectly legal to set up a colony of those.
Ah I forgot about discoids. I wonder why they can keep those species and not the rest?
