I know this might sound crazy, but last night around 2 am, my big male was croaking. While he was croaking I heard a higher pitch shorter length croaking. I swear that it was the baby croaking because I don't have any other frogs in my room. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard a baby pyxie croak.
Hey TJ,
We have been hearing this for months. AND we hear it ALOT!!! It is a hard sound to describe but it sounds exactly like a younger Pyxie trying to croak. It is deep (even though for their size it is kind of high pitched) and it is drawn out like a croak. Ours go back and forth at night. Several of them at once. I chatted with Kim about it months ago as we had already began hearing it about 3 weeks after receiving ours. He said that they are too young to croak and that it was them barking. IDK. I have heard them both. I have heard them bark when they get upset at me but the croaking is an altogether different sound and always comes late at night.
Exactly, it doesn't sound like a short bark, it sounds like a croak. Now I'm wondering if this indicates sex.
my baby croaked i knew it was a croak it probaly was for you 2
