    Default Moss Problems

So recently, I replaced my moss in my fbt tank about 4 weeks ago and now it's turning blackish and perishing. Any advice?

I don't know your situation but here are some things that I have found with using live moss.

Moss likes lots of light. It doesn't tolerate fertilizers. It needs to be kept moist. When I use sheet or carpet moss I put a layer of 'forest floor' or wood shavings under it. I learned the other day that you can use sphagnum moss under it as well (thanks Ebony). By doing these simple things I no longer have any trouble keeping my mosses alive and looking good. If you have specific problems post some pics and someone will surely be able to help.

Thanks for the advice. I'll use it for my big toad tank clean up.
