Default Using found objects in terrarium

    Hi:

I'm new to keeping frogs and I have a quick question about setting up a terrarium. I know you can buy sticks and logs at pet stores, but what about using things from outside around your home? I'm thinking it probably wouldn't be safe to just put any ol' thing from outside into your frog's tank. Is there anything you could do to a log or branch that would make it safe to put in the terrarium?

    Thanks!

Just boil it for a few minutes and then as a secondary precaution you can oven dry it.

Anything I collect from a local lake first gets a good scrubbing with a vegetable brush and then gets baked in a 150-200 degree oven for an hour, then allowed to cool.
