    Default Schistocerca Shoshone(bird winged grasshoppers)

Here's some pics of a project i have going on. Since the desert locust(schistocerca gregaria) are illegal here in the states. I've been trying to get these guys established. They're pretty easy to keep. it's the nesting(soil) part I've been trying to get right. I just hope they live long enough for me to get it right. I think it' been close to a month already.

Yea, horned frogs, pyxie frogs, and my other various pets. That's if I can get a colony going.

Hey Kevin..They look awesome. I hope you get hatching's soon. If you do..you might want to put more sticks in for the young. If they are anything like the Locust you will have plenty. What are you feeding them? My Locusts like carrot, bamboo, grass, bran flakes, rolled oats. Wheat grass. Good luck

    Thanks Ebony
I feed them veggies mostly(carrots, celery, romaine lettuce) but they really seem to like oranges.

Sorry...I mean the oranges..I would think they would go off very quickly with the high temp..thats one of the biggest problems I find with keeping Locust fed..their food has to be fresh and with the heat the food spoils quickly.
