    Default Please help on ID

    Hi there

A mate of mine just got a 6 stunning Horned Frogs and asked me to help him with the ID, which of these are C. cornuta and which are C. cranwelli... and he was also told that one was a fantasy... my guess is number 1 is the rest are C. cranwelli but please correct me if I am wrong.

Also some tips for sexing. I know that if they croak they male (which isn't always the case), and then there is also a difference in the size of the mouth to body ratio if I am not mistaken. Forgive my ignorance, exotic species are still very new to me

I'm gonna have to disagree Hank, only with number 4. I think number 4 is a cranwelli it has the typical cranwell coloring and more importantly, lacks the 2 dots behind the eyes.

And as such, the potential hybrid of C. cranwelli and C.ornata become evident. I can only offer my interpretation of the photos avialable, and, I am comfortable with my assesment.
Other than that, I base my opinion upon my experience.

#1 could be any of the following
    hybrid ornata x cranwelli
possibly a hybrid cranwelli x cornuta
or, even an ornata or a cranwell, the pic only allows general interpretaion.
You may ask the supplier what it is if you are comfortable with that.

It's really not that important anyway.
