I saw some baby albino Fire Bellies at an expo a few months back, and was wondering if anybody had any good pictures of some albino adults. I did a quick search online and didn't really come up with anything good. I'm just curious as to how they look when they are full size. Thanks!
I've got some fire bellies myself.. but the albinos look too skin color for my taste. If they were yellow like the albino red eyes I would go for them. That would be cool yellow with a red under belly. Can I order one that color?![]()
An albino B. orientalis would probably have the color you are looking for, but from what I understand none of the few that have popped up survived to adulthood.
Thanks for the links, Tony! Like I said, I saw them at an expo, but they were really small. They were listed for $70, I think, a lot less than the members were discussing in the thread that you linked to. A little gross looking as an adult, but still cool.
If you go to one of this links above, members of the other thread were discussing how red color may accumulate (either in albino's or leucistics, I can't remember) since it is introduced in diet and is not a natural endogenous pigment. I don't know enough about these animals, or pigmentation in general to comment on how true that is. So, maybe it is possible to order one with a red belly!
