I read they were good eaters, but are they able to eat 1/4 crickets?
I think the best would be fruit flys, but i'll only got them in a month...

The best would probably be fruit flies. You could also try something like Phoenix Worms or springtails. If I remember correctly the way to size food items is that the length should be less than the width of the head, that is to say, if the cricket is shorter than the width of the head, then they should be able to eat it.
Someone with more experience may be able to weigh in with better information.
Hope that helps,
Alex
1/4 inch crickets would be to big for most individuals to manage.
Thanks for infos.
They love Hydei, and they are a staple diet in my collection. I dust them prior to putting them into the tank.. This way they cannot climb well with powder on there body, but are an easy mark for the toads... JERRY
Great foods are the dust crickets as we call it here, this are newly hatched crickets.
Other foods they might like are small termites, woodlice, springtails and (pea) aphis.
