Froggie troubles

I am a new owner of a young grey as well about an inch long maybe a bit longer and for awhile he was always waiting on his log to be fed... lately he hasnt he just stays stuck on the wall but the next morning the crickets are gone and sometimes if im up early i do catch him on his log.

from what ive read on this site im not too concerned about him....

As they get older the eat less not daily anymore, also i was told that they may feel the temperature/ season change even in a heated house. internal clock maybe lol.

Hopefully both of our frogs are just going through a lil faze and the winter and maturing factors are affecting them.

Hope this helps but as I said I am new at this, and could be completely wrong only had Frodo 3 weeks but ive been stalking this forum for grey tree frog information lol! Its great the care sheet and other posts have been a savior.

I was wondering about the hibernation thing, if she does quit eating and start to go into hibernation should I put her in a container with some dirt and set her in a safe place on my porch for the winter so she doesn't starve and can safely hibernate normally?

I wouldn't change anything, just keep an eye on her. They hibernate above ground so she shouldn't need any special accommodations. Ebony hibernates her frogs outside every year, hopefully she can give some more input here.

yay! I saw her shedding so that is why she is a little bloated and shiny and this morning she went after the last cricket in the terrarium! phew...thank you all for your input! So glad Miss Grey is ok!

Hi Angie, Your baby is just slightly bigger than my largest Gray who morphed in July. I have 13 Gray Tree froglets, all morphed around July and 30 Gray Tree frog tadpoles, I just took out of the pool again a week or two ago. I took the tadpoles in because it's getting colder and they were developing very slowly and would not have survived. I am now a frog nanny.
So over the past few weeks mine guys are definitely slowing down and since they were already slow and lazy that isn't saying much, but I have seen a definite difference.
Little Miss Grey looks very healthy and they usually puff up and look shiney like that when they absorb moisture. All mine do and it's even more obvious when they are outside, I had thousands to observe over this summer.
I take mine out of the tank into another container for feeding. I had also tried to feed them with a cricket bowl too, which was very successful, but I won't bore you with the whole explanation. Anyway, if your concerned at all about her eating, take her out and feed her. I use a see through container with a lid that is opaque and "snaps" on. (I'll post a pic) I drop several medium or large crickets in the container and they gobble them up as I am dropping them in. You could try this for a feeding or two or even every once and a while just so you know for certain she is eating.
It seems as though she's doing ok, but it's always better to ask questions and be cautious. Best of luck, she's very cute

thank you! You have lots of froggies!! I love these guys and if I had the money and space for more enclosures and bigger ones I would have lots too! They usually eat one or two from my hands or I will put a cricket down right in front of them just so I know they do eat before I throw a couple in the enclosure for them to hunt so I am guessing she grabbed some through the night that were still in there drifting around from the day or so before I try not to take them out for feeding don't want any accidents (I have 3 cats) or to handle them too much so I try to get them to eat from my hands or I watch to make sure they eat before I walk away.
