For those that may not know already, I have spent most of the last year creating a breeding project for the critically endangered Agalychnis.moreletii. Recently it was looking very promising as the males were calling regularly and the only female seemed responsive and was full of eggs 2 days ago. To make a long story short, she would not allow him to court her and could not release her eggs and died as a result. She was the only female in the group. A devastating end to a very fun project. I learned a lot about leaf frogs from this regardless the outcome. Back to the drawing board.
I'll miss this girl.
